Landscape Assistant

Julian and Isabel Bannerman are award winning landscape designers, living in Somerset, near Yeovil and working all over south of England mostly from Kent to Cornwall. We work from our studio at home on a limited number of projects, very closely with clients, sometimes these are institutions, but mostly private gardens. We are looking for someone to produce, update and upload CAD drawings for various jobs and to help with planting plans, design, contract meetings, etc.

The job would suit someone who knows our work already and finds it interesting and would therefore enjoy working closely with us and the small team. The job might be part or full time depending on the candidate; some of the time in the studio with us and from home – which needs to be not much more than an hour from Yeovil.

We are extremely flexible and open to suggestion, but we do require some or all of the following:

A demonstrably high interest in design, landscape, gardens, fine art, the applied arts, architecture etc.
Competence in CAD (Vectorworks/AutoCAD - CRGD works in Vectorworks), Sketch-up, Microsoft Office and Photoshop
Good construction knowledge and experience in detailing
A keen interest and knowledge of plants
Highly proficient in spoken and written English and Eligible to work in the UK
Ability to communicate efficiently and clearly both in written form and through graphic representations
To prepare, and develop with the team where required, drawings, 3D models, mood boards and other documents relating to the design
Self-motivated and able to take responsibility
