Belderbos Landscapes is an established, yet growing landscape design, construction and maintenance business, based in Richmond, South West London. We have several teams building and maintaining gardens and outside spaces for mainly residential and some commercial clients in London and the Home Counties.

You will support our two senior garden designers as well as providing design and quoting support for minor project works. Typical tasks are described in more detail below.

This is a fantastic opportunity for the right person to be part of a growing business. The ideal candidate will have a design qualification or experience in a similar design role in a garden design and build business. You will need to be familiar with using Vectorworks and Sketch-up as well be capable of creating simple quotes. You will also be self-motivated, reliable and have a friendly yet professional approach with clients and colleagues.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Job title: Garden Design Assistant Full-time or part-time
  • Location: Belderbos Landscapes office, 7 Greenlea Park, Prince George’s Road, London, SW19 2JD
  • Report to: Garden Designers

Responsibilities

  • Attend select client meetings with the Designers.
  • Assist the Garden Designer with large garden surveys or where appropriate, undertake the surveys alone.
  • Take a brief from the Garden Designers or Maintenance Manager.
  • Sole responsibility for 3D / CGI visualisations and mood boards, to support the garden design and minor works.
  • Design or assistance with planting plans.
  • Garden design layout plans.
  • Capable of producing bills of quantities, once design is approved and quotation is required.
  • Supporting the designer in setting-out plants, checking plant quality, quantity and specimen is correct.

Your essential attributes

  • Qualified garden designer, preferably with experience of working in a dynamic garden design and landscaping company.
  • Excellent internal communication skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail, effective planning and resourceful.

Your desirable attributes

  • Good educational background, preferably in design and landscaping.

Qualifications

  • Garden Design qualification.
  • Strong working knowledge of Vectorworks, Photoshop and Sketch-up.
