Tom Stuart-Smith Ltd is looking for a Landscape Architect to join its practice of 15 designers and support staff. The studio is based at Serge Hill, near St Albans, in a recently built contemporary studio immersed in a mix of established gardens around Tom’s home, The Barn and a new horticultural growing space, The Orchard.

This position would particularly suit someone with relevant professional experience in a similar role or recent graduates. You will be working on a variety of exciting public and private gardens, urban spaces and historic landscapes in the UK and overseas. Essential skills and attributes:

  • Masters in Landscape Architecture or equivalent professional experience working in a landscape design studio.
  • Strong interest in designing with plants, developing industry knowledge and horticultural specialisms.
  • Dedicated, organised, self-motivated and willing to work across a range of projects.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills, including the ability to sketch and develop designs on paper as well as digitally.
  • Ability to work effectively both individually and with a team.
  • Can work under pressure and to the highest standard for project deadlines.
  • Strong skills in AutoCAD, Sketchup, Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite.
  • Fluency in English language, European languages are an advantage.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK and Europe and possession of any relevant visas.
