Garden Designer

We are looking to recruit a garden designer to join our team.

Andy Stedman Design is an established, yet growing garden design business, based in Chichester, West Sussex.

Report to: Andy Stedman

Key objectives of the role:

Create beautiful, feasible and compelling designs that can satisfy a range of clients.
Oversee and manage designs from start to finish.
Help develop processes and techniques along side the team.

Responsibilities:

Meeting clients independently, to take briefs and to present designs.
Surveying sites independently.
Excellent standards of design and presentation.
Good planting knowledge and ability to create imaginative planting plans.
Designing well annotated 2D Vectorworks plans.
Well presented 3D models using SketchUp.
Keep pace with new products, materials, design ideas and current trends.
Develop and support the team with new technology, software, hardware and techniques.
General office administration.
Demonstrate enthusiasm and attention to detail in all aspects of the role.

Essential attributes:

Fully qualified garden designer/landscape designer.
Have at least three years post graduate work experience within similar roles.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to build excellent working relationships.
Good horticultural knowledge.
Solid organisational and planning skills.
Flexibility to meet clients.
Must have a full UK driving license and vehicle.
Must be within driving distance (preferably maximum 30 mins) of our studio and willing to travel.

Required qualifications

Qualified in landscape architecture or garden design, ideally to degree level (diplomas/recognised certification from accredited institutions considered).
Strong knowledge and experience of Vectorworks and SketchUp. Photoshop and InDesign preferred, but not essential.
