Head Gardener

An exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen for a dedicated, experienced and enthusiastic individual looking for a fresh challenge. In this newly created position of Head Gardener, the successful applicant will be responsible for developing and enhancing our uniquely designed and award-winning gardens in and around Chichester, West Sussex.

As a design and build practice, we specialise in the creation of bespoke high-end gardens and landscapes to discerning clients with a particular focus on outstanding soft landscaping schemes. We are therefore looking for the right person to join our enthusiastic team, overseeing the day to day management, development and maintenance of a growing portfolio of gardens.

Responsibility and Requirements:

Excellent horticultural knowledge backed up with a recognised horticultural qualification is essential.
A love of gardens, gardening and being outdoors.
Must have outstanding attention to detail.
Demonstrate passion and enthusiasm for their subject in both customer facing and supervisory situations.
Be happy both working alone and with others in a supervisory capacity.
Must be practical and capable of carrying out a host of gardening tasks to a consistently high standard.
Should have a working knowledge of garden machinery/equipment use and maintenance.
Should have a working knowledge of plant combinations and horticultural techniques across the spectrum of ornamental plants, vegetables and fruit.
Should be familiar with propagation as well as pest and disease identification and prevention
PA1/PA6 Certificate (Spraying) would be preferable.
Must be eligible to work in the UK.
Full, clean UK driving licence.
Own vehicle is not essential as we would be looking to provide a company van.
Be prepared to give the job their commitment and demonstrate vision and passion for excellence.
