Garden Design assistant - part/full time - 12-month graduate placement

A great opportunity to work for an award-winning design studio, working throughout the west of Scotland. We are looking for an enthusiastic garden design graduate to join the studio to support the principal designer on a range of projects with a focus on sustainable design.
Role and responsibilities:
- To support the principal designer in carrying out design duties through the whole design process from assisting with site surveys and soil analyses; creating masterplans, mood boards and 3-D drawings to an agreed concept; Producing design details (construction drawings, specifications, planting plans)
- To assist in the planting of the garden.
- To assist with project-specific administration
- Help company to maintain compliance to all rules and regulations
Due to the current restrictions, the role will initially be a home-based position with mentoring and team meetings via an online platform. The successful applicant must be available for site visits in West Scotland.
The successful candidate will have:
- A graduate in Garden Design (HNC, HND or degree) in the past 4-years and not have worked in graduate-level paid work for more than 12 months since graduation
- Full UK driving license & own vehicle
- Good working knowledge of Sketchup & Layout, and good hand drawing skills
- Good plant knowledge
- Able to produce construction drawings
- Enthusiastic and keen to learn
- Able to work to deadlines
- Passionate about garden design, plants & sustainability
- Independent worker & good team player
- Good organisational skills
- Excellent communicator - both written and verbal
- Creative
