DESCRIPTION:This online course will provide students with the knowledge to start gardening with good habits that benefit the life in your garden and also the wider world. We will ensure learners understand how resources such as water and soil can be managed with care. We will look at No Dig gardening and consider plants for a warmer future\, as well as providing ideas for easy changes in the garden\, to transform it into a wildlife haven.\n\nSessions can be attended singly or as the complete series and no previous experience is needed. We will cover the principles of essential horticultural topics\, as well as the science that underpins these principles\, with learning consolidated through online quizzes and group discussions.\n\nSandie Cain joined the Garden team in 2018 as Horticultural Learning Co-ordinator with responsibility for the Schools Garden and horticultural learning.  She studied horticulture at Plumpton College and Bicton College\, and was previously head gardener of a Victorian walled garden producing vegetables\, fruit\, micro herbs and edible flowers for a Michelin Star restaurant.  Sandie is passionate about horticulture with a special interest in kitchen gardens.\n\n
