Will the planning reforms help or hinder Landscape Practice?\n\nIn 2020\, the Government announced a "complete overhaul" of the planning system - the largest change to how places are planned\, designed\, and protected in more than a generation. \n\nMany of these changes respond specifically to the Living with Beauty report\, and the ambition to raise the standard of design and "beauty" across the country.  The National Model Design code has now been published. The role of landscape planners and designers\, in both the public and private sector\, are at the heart of these reforms. \n\nJoin us at this CPD conference to hear what the reforms mean for landscape and green infrastructure: including everything from Environmental Impact Assessment to Conservation Areas.  We’ll cover pattern books and design codes\, the new policies around flooding and street trees\, changes to LVIA and other assessments\, the role of the new Design and Placemaking Officers\, and the profound way all of this could change the nature of landscape practice. \n\nThe devolved nations are also going through their own reforms\, including the upcoming NPF4 in Scotland\, and PPW11 in Wales.  And beyond that: the England planning reforms take lessons from zoning approaches used in the USA and elsewhere.  Come to our CPD event to see how we can all learn from best practice elsewhere\, and how we can avoid the pitfalls.\n\nSpeakers include:\n\nKatherine Greig\, Head of Transition\, Flood ReAnna Rose MRTPI\, Head of the Planning Advisory Service\, Local Government AssociationHarriet Bourne\, Director\, BBUK StudioSharon Durdant-Hollamby\, President of the Institute of Chartered Foresters and director of Sharon Hosegood AssociatesStephen Kelly\, Joint Director of Planning and Economic Development\, Greater Cambridgeshire Shared PlanningDr Rufus Howard\, Impact Assessment Policy Lead\, IEMABooking link: https://bit.ly/2V4ZTJY\n\n DTSTAMP:20210819T112700Z DTSTART:20210928T112700Z DTEND:20210930T112700Z END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
