Download Event to Calendar

This is an in person one-day event which will be run at the following times:

29th March 2022 from 10.00am - 4.00pm

If a garden is to have interest, colour and form throughout the year, a garden designer should consider and account for successional planting.

By the end of this session you will:

• Be able to explain the importance of plants, place and space.
• Identify which plants, specifically perennials, can provide interest all year round
• Explain why plant selection is critical to ensuring succession
• Identify plant material which can help to overcome seasonal slumps
• Consider root systems, growth and plant sociability in a range of perennials
• Improve your own planting plans

PLEASE NOTE: Parking is available at the venue at a cost of £0.50 per car.

COVID 19 precautions: We encourage all attendees to take a lateral flow test up to 24 hours before the start of the event.

Course Tutor: Rosy Hardy

Having won 24 RHS Chelsea Gold medals and numerous awards for her garden designs and floral displays, and being an RHS Master Grower for her nursery, Hardy’s Cottage Garden Plants, which specialises in herbaceous perennials; Rosy Hardy brings a depth of knowledge and experience which can help Garden Designers improve their own practice.

Rosy is an RHS Judge and the Vice President of the RHS. She also mentors RHS Chelsea hopefuls through Project Giving Back.

To get the most from these sessions, students are encouraged to bring their own planting plans, be willing to share their own real life challenges and successes and to have their own questions ready for the session.

This event is brought to you by Ana-Mari Bull MSGD, Regional Coordinator for London and South Midlands.
