Once you have booked onto the event you will be sent a Zoom registration link\, please complete the registration then you will be sent a link to join the Zoom meeting.\n\nCourse Tutor: John Frater\n\nAs designers working in the horticultural tradition we are familiar with researching plants in terms of their environmental tolerances. For example\, is a plant shade tolerant\, does it like wet or dry conditions etc. This is usually the only sort of information provided in the horticultural literature. However\, it can be much more useful to consider the natural habitats of the plants we use.\n\nBased on work undertaken in Germany we will discuss 6 plant habitat stereotypes. We will discuss the nature of the particular habitats and how this knowledge can influence\, not just which plants to use\, but also how they are arranged in our designs.\n\nOnce we have covered some of the theory we will try putting it into practice by producing some sketch planting plans that we will present and discuss.\n\nThe plant habitats are:\n\nWoodland\n\nWoodland Edge\n\nOpen Ground - Wet Meadow\n\nOpen Ground - Steppe\n\nAlpine\n\nWater's Edge\n\n DTSTAMP:20230117T151800Z DTSTART:20230221T100000Z DTEND:20230221T130000Z END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
