The talk focuses on soils from a designer's perspective and includes a discussion of common problems. Helen is a design specialist but like all designers she has to get the designs from paper to reality and to do so we need to know enough about a wide range of topics including soil.  So what is ‘enough’.   I also chat through differing perceptions of ‘soils’ within the construction industry and why this matters.

I look at some simple strategies and importantly principals that might be applied across all sites to minimise damage and ask the question can we justify the damage to soil by the changes we are proposing.
