Overview

In this 2 part course, we will focus on demystifying perspective drawing. We will look at terms such as horizon lines, vanishing points, one and two point perspectives and atmospheric perspective. Starting from basic principles, there will be exercises to give you the confidence to practice.

Adding a third dimension to your sketches can really bring them to life and help clients visualise the suggested garden. With a few simple tricks, you can create a real sense of space to your sketches and make them feel much more real. It also helps you to get a sense of the space you are designing and to try out ideas.

This course is aimed at beginners and anyone who wishes to refresh their perspective drawing skills. It compliments the 'Tricks and Techniques for sketching plants' course but can be taken as a standalone course.

Materials:

You will need pencils, rubber, pencil sharpener, a ruler and a scale ruler, fineliner pens in two different thicknesses, (for instance 005 and 2 or 2 and 5), A3 paper (layout/photocopy etc) and a couple of sheets of tracing paper. Tape for fastening your sketches and a set square is also useful.
