Pathfinder 2.0: carbon calculator tool (video - redirects to YouTube)

This video is the recording of a presentation and demonstration of the Pathfinder 2.0, a carbon calculator specifically for the landscape industry. In this talk, you will find out how to use the tool to calculate the embodied carbon of your design, how many years it will take to become carbon positive, and how you can tweak it to reduce how long it will take until it starts sequestering carbon! The speaker is Eustacia Brossart, a landscape architect of CMG Landscapes and one of the developers of Pathfinder 2.0 and the Climate Positive Design challenge.

This talk is one of a series of talks to explore sustainable design solutions for the landscape industry in response to the climate crisis. It is brought to you by Rachel Bailey of Rachel Bailey Garden Design Ltd., and Becca Duncan of Blossoming Gardens, both design studios based in Scotland. The series of talks is kindly supported by Zero Waste Scotland. About ZWS: Zero Waste Scotland exists to lead Scotland to use products and resources responsibly, focusing on where we can have the greatest impact on climate change. Using evidence and insight, their goal is to inform policy, and motivate individuals and businesses to embrace the environmental, economic, and social benefits of a circular economy. They are a not-for-profit environmental organisation, funded by the Scottish Government and European Regional Development Fund. Further resources: - where you will find the online Pathfinder tool and a whole raft of useful information including suggestions for alternative materials that have a high embodied carbon, and design suggestions. - even more resources and information!
