Design and Studio Assistant

We are looking to recruit a design and studio assistant to join our exceptional, innovative, fast moving and ambitious landscape design, showroom and studio based in Chichester, West Sussex.

Key objectives of the role:

Support all aspects of administration within the business
Assist with day-to-day running of our showroom and studio
Assist with creating designs that satisfy a range of clients
Help develop processes and systems alongside the team

Role and responsibilities

Job title: Design and Studio Assistant

Tenure: Maternity cover leading to full time

Salary: Competitive - DOE

Start date: March/April 2022

Responsibilities:

Meet and greet clients at the studio and showroom
Help with day-to-day running of the studio and showroom
Answer office phone, emails and deal with enquiries
Support the team with project administration
Support the team with design projects
Control stock of stationary and consumables
Help organise showroom materials and sales
Support all marketing activity
Carry out basic bookkeeping duties
Carry out PA duties to support the Director
Support, learn and develop systems and processes to help towards business efficiency

Essential attributes:

Experience in a similar role
Proactive and a self-starter
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to build excellent working relationships
Good horticultural knowledge preferred
Good knowledge of construction and materials preferred
Solid organisational and planning skills
Must have a full UK driving license and vehicle
Must be within driving distance of our studio and willing to travel

Required skills and qualifications

CAD experience preferred but not essential - Vectorworks and SketchUp
Diploma or degree in garden design (this role would ideally suit someone recently qualified)
Strong knowledge and experience of Apple, PC and office software
