February Members Hour 2023 will feature a talk from the SGD Council Member for Diversity and Education, Darryl Moore.

Darryl is an award-winning garden and landscape designer and writer. He is Director and co-founder of the innovative urban landscape organisation Cityscapes, realising creative approaches to greening city spaces through novel design ideas that ensure ecological, economic and social sustainability. He is co-curator of thehub.earth, a tutor at KLC School of Design, and a regular feature writer for Garden Design Journal.

Darryl will be talking about his new book Gardening in a Changing World, which investigates our relationship with plants, in the context of the climate and biodiversity crises, by taking an overarching perspective encompassing ecology, garden history, economics, philosophy and plant science. He pushes beyond the notion that gardening is always good for the planet, to highlight alternative approaches to how we can design, inhabit and enjoy our gardens and public green spaces, for the benefit of not only our species, but also all the others we share these spaces with, by using ecological principles and working in partnership with plants.

The February Members' Hour takes place at 19.30 on 28 February 2023.

In order to attend, please email the SGD office on info@sgd.org.uk and we will register your attendance and send the Zoom link closer to the time.
