Course Overview
There is often confusion about the differences between master-planning and design. Master-planning is about land use and circulation, so is always relevant, but comes into its own on larger sites. It is most used in large country gardens/estates, and urban areas. This session will explain in detail the processes you should go through to masterplan a site, as well as looking at the various sources of information and the likely planning implications. Using practical examples from the UK and abroad, John will talk through the processes so that by the end of this session you will have a rigorous model you should be able to apply to any site. There will be time for questions specific to a project.
