Peter Holmes

I am currently taking an online diploma through KLC in Garden Design and so far I have received outstanding grades and feedback, and I feel that I would like to gain further experience in order to progress my career in this area.

I have been training myself in the use of Vectorworks and SketchUp, and would class myself as an intermediate user of these programs. I feel that I can continue to improve my skills on these programs.

I can also produce hand drawn FLP’s, Master Plans, Planting plans, Elevation drawings and axonometric drawings to a high standard. I am also proficient at hand rendering these in a variety of different mediums.

Although my background is in retail I am looking to change my career to something I wish to do. For the past 1 year I have been a Garden Centre Manager which has provided me much experience with plants and identifying customers needs. Over the past 20 years I have also gained great experience in 'what looks good' in order to create greater interest for the customers needs.

I can be contacted on the below.

Alexa Ryan-Mills

Freelance planting designer

Planting design plays an essential role in bringing together people and place, creating beautiful and sustainable spaces that promote wellbeing and biodiversity. But it’s too often tacked on at the end and copy and pasted from a favourite list or another scheme somewhere else. It can be so much more than that.

Do you need to bring in planting design expertise on public realm, commercial or residential projects where you lack the capacity in-house?

Are you a small studio looking to outsource planting design so you can focus on growing your business?
Are you winning larger projects that need more time and focus on planting design than you can currently give?
Do you have a project that needs something different from what you normally provide when it comes to planting design?

I can work with you either as a behind-the-scenes resource or as a visible member of your team on larger projects. I earned a diploma in Planting Design with distinction at London College of Garden Design in 2021. There I was taught by Andrew Fisher Tomlin and the likes of Nigel Dunnett, Neil Lucas and Tony Kirkham - all leaders in their respective fields. I have been running a small garden design practice in east London since 2018, having trained at leading horticultural school, Capel Manor College. I'm now offering freelance planting design services to garden designers and landscaper architects.

Get in touch if you’d like to arrange a chat.

Daniel Denore

I’m currently working in the maintenance department with a landscaping company as a maintenance gardener in South West London / central London.

My work experience has been in Quantity Surveying for a construction company for almost 2 years as an assistant surveyor, pre covid and Last year I completed a post graduate diploma in Garden Design with the British Academy of Garden Design.

I have experience working as a gardener in private gardens, commercial areas using a variety of tools/ motor tools and on project jobs.

I would like to practice as a designer fundamentally but I think with my expertise as a gardener I believe I would be more suited initially as an assistant designer where I can perhaps learn the trade  and assist where I can and go from there.

I want to keep up my horticulture knowledge as a professional in the industry and would like to take on an RHS course to hone in on those fundamental  elements.

My contact details are below, I am open to have a conversation to talk about opportunities and would be happy to discuss full time work or freelancer options.
