PROMOTE YOUR DESIGN BUSINESS

We offer several ways for our Members to promote their work and business to prospective clients and raise their profile in the industry.

All of our members, whether Registered, Pre-Registered or Students, can:

  • Share news via our social media channels
The Society wants to celebrate members’ success, so whether you just got a big commission, are creating a show garden or passed a stage of accreditation, let us know so we can tell our followers about it. Email info@sgd.org.uk

  • Send garden images to display online
We like to show off our members’ work and are always looking for photographs of great projects to consider for use on the SGD website. Please ensure images are of high quality/resolution and you have the permission of the copyright holder to use online.

  • Enter the SGD Awards
Our prestigious annual awards recognise the best in garden design, and offer the chance to have your work seen by top designers and the media as well as the wider industry and potential clients. Finalists have their images displayed on screens during the ceremony and printed in the awards guide. All winning and shortlisted projects are featured in the Garden Design Journal, and several winners are also covered in Homes & Gardens magazine, our media partner.

  • Help the SGD Council
The SGD Council and committees have a lot to do and we are always looking for volunteers to get involved. Taking a more active role in the Society can lead to networking opportunities as well as a higher profile in the industry.

In addition, Registered Members (FSGD & MSGD) can also:

  • Display work at the Chelsea Flower Show
The SGD takes a stand at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show each year, giving Members the chance to have their work seen by an audience of over 150,000 visitors during show week. Display options available include a wall block poster, an A2 poster in a flip display or inclusion in an image presentation on screen. All bookings are taken on a first paid basis, and more details including a poster spec sheet are available.

  • Participate at events and shows
As well as Chelsea, the Society also takes stands and displays at various flower and consumer shows each year. You can volunteer to help at these shows, manning the stand and running free design advice sessions for visitors.

  • Order a site board with the SGD logo
We have commissioned the design of a professional site board, which is now available to all our Registered Members. The Registered Practice name or individual Registered Member’s name appears at the top followed by MSGD or FSGD. The boards may only be used on sites under the Registered Practice or Member’s supervision.
